#Alternative to Newnan Hotels

What distinguishes a hotel stay from a bed and breakfast stay? It's really an important query and one that I enjoy answering. I had a call yesterday from a gentleman planning a return visit to Newnan. He and his wife had never stayed in a bed and breakfast and they thought they might give it a try! The top reasons worth your consideration; more personalized attention from the innkeepers, a full sit-down made-from-scratch breakfast served restaurant-style in the majority of bed and breakfasts, smaller groups of guests, more romantic accommodations with all the features of a high-end boutique hotel, and closer proximity to in-town activities and restaurants! Bottom line: a much more intimate experience that provides a long-lasting memory!

Visiting Casa Bella in Newnan, GA

We are often asked "what's for breakfast?"  The answer depends on the season and what fruit is coming in.

Each breakfast starts with a "sweet" plate!  Handmade waffles, crepes, French Toast, grilled loaf cake and Spanish Almond Cake are a few of the specialties featured.

Each is accompanied by a homemade fruit syrup, compote, coulee or handblended pancake syrup!  All made in our own kitchen with local fruit whenever possible!

B & B's; An Alternative to Impersonal Hotels

It's always fun to introduce "newbies" to the world of Bed and Breakfasts. Some of our favorite travel memories include stays in Bed and Breakfasts outside the US. Our favorite Bed and Breakfast stay is in central Tuscany in San Guistino Valdarno. Friendly, well-appointed apartments are available as a Bed and Breakfast accommodation or as a vacation rental with full kitchen and tons of privacy! Enzo is the perfect host! Each day he delivers homemade red wine to your doorstep! Olive oil bottles are refilled on request with fragrant oil pressed from his own olive trees just outside your apartment. A wood-burning stove fires fabulous pizzas with dough made by a friend's store right down the road. At Casa Bella we've tried to remember the pleasing qualities of one of our favorite "watermelon" houses in Italy. We share our love of international travel when asked about the photography that hangs in the front hall. Guests remember their favorite destinations and a sense of adventure fills the air! A little red wine doesn't hurt either!

Staying in A Newnan Hotel

Many times we find guests are looking for a little more than local hotels can deliver! We entertain many guests with special dietary needs and we love the special challenge that it presents. This is getting to be a popular stand-in when gluten is an issue. It a flourless cake with fruit and freshly whipped cream. I macerated cara-cara oranges and used my freshly canned strawberries to make a fresh fruit side!

Lodging in Newnan 30263

I'm so reluctant to call this wonderful recipe, "gluten-free". In fact, it is flourless! It's a Spanish Almond Cake; simple, delicious and fun to make. This easy-to-make cake is ground almonds, egg yolks, egg whites, a little sugar, almond-flavoring and orange and lemon zest! Couldn't be easier but perfect for "our gluten-free" guests!

Stay In Newnan 30263

Well, it's official! The pool's open and guests are diving in. The water temperature is rising and the air is getting hotter! If you're not inclined to stay by the pool there's always plenty to do. Today, guests enjoyed our downtown market on the square before heading to Senoia to fight zombies! Catching a glimpse of a favorite character from The Walking Dead is a great afternoon hunt! It's hard work but one can always refresh with a Zombie Latte at the Woodbury Café in Senoia! (Senoia Coffee Company!)

Grilled Vanilla Loaf with Strawberries and Toasted Almonds

A trio of syrups and cordials enhance the wonderful, fresh flavors of our "newest" offering at Casa Bella.  Fresh strawberries and toasted almonds!

First up, an intense strawberry cordial that flavors the syrup of our macerating strawberries. At the end of the process a dash of homemade orange brandy to balance the sweetness of the homemade raspberry syrup.

All of these sumptuous flavors compliment a buttery slice of vanilla loaf cake and fresh whipped cream.

A perfect start to a beautiful spring morning in Coweta County!

Fresh Beginnings at Casa Bella B&B

Some of us crave fresh fruit in the early am; me included! This recipe is an adaptation of an English trifle into a refreshing morning course that wakes up the tastebuds!

This is an easy creme made up of a little custard, yogurt and freshly whipped cream! I add the creme mixture to a crystal glass, slice fresh strawberries and gently layer them on top of the creme, add another small layer of creme, sliced red grapes, more creme and finally a layer of homemade blueberries in their own syrup and salted chopped almonds and pecans! All of this sits on a crunchy square of pan-fried pound cake!

Let the madness begin! We're ready!
