Simplistic Details

Often, I am attracted to a serving piece just for its graceful lines, a rich patina or even the skillful combinations of metals and finishes. In this case a combination of all of those things. This beautiful, fanciful piece is from France. My thoughtful hubby presented it to me one Easter in lieu of chocolate!

An egg warmer that functions well-tableside, softly boiled eggs can be served with an egg cup for an elegant simple breakfast of eggs and lightly toasted Sally Lunn bread and rich preserves. The egg warmer is a combination of brass and copper-with a pretty, little hen perched on top of the lid!

I have enjoyed a lifelong fascination of breakfast serving pieces-drawing from my childhood memories of our six-month stay at Stadt Phorzheim in Southern Germany back in the 60's.

Santa and Rudolf!

I don't know how old this snowglobe is but I imagine it to be from the 40's or 50's.
I found it in a closet while cleaning out the estate of Ronald M's family home, in Mamaroneck, New York. It had long since lost all it's water and sparkle but I brought it home to see if I could revitalize Santa and Rudolf. Within minutes I had it filled and pretty with new metallic glitter.
It's one of my favorite pieces to bring out at the holidays. It keeps us connected to the Girondas and favorite childhood memories!

The Bird That Doesn't Like Green Beans

This year, more than ever, it just makes sense to take a look around and see what you can transform with a little paint or in this case  . . silver guilding.
The frames were perfectly okay but I was looking for something to really pull out the vibrant colors and guilding. For less than $6 I  transformed the frames and gave them a little sparkle!

Sunny Coweta Days

Georgia graces us with lovely weather nine or so months out of the year. We are fortunate to enjoy warm winter days (60+ degrees today) and cooler evening temperatures in the middle of summer.

Enjoy some thought-provoking, quiet moments from the pretty porches of Casa Bella. Better yet, go grab a cup of coffee or a glass of sweet tea and I'll meet you back on the front porch!

Let Them Eat Toffee

Located right on the Court Square, Let Them Eat Toffee, indulges your sweet tooth with dark, rich chocolates filled with decandent fillings!

Cap off a perfect afternoon of shopping, lunch at Redneck Gourmet, the frothy goodness of a cappuccino from Espresso Lane and handmade chocolates!  Aah! Sweet Success!

Casa Bella Bed and Breakfast of Newnan

I shot this photo after strolling from downtown through our historic College Temple District on a crisp, fall day.

Just one of the many charms that makes downtown Newnan so enjoyable, our vibrant downtown is filled with owner-operated restaurants, coffee and candy shops and well-stocked, interesting shops.

Another Day Closer

Every day, now, we catch glimpses of the pretty spaces that are unfolding through-out the house.

Each little glimpse caused by the simple placement of a pretty lamp or the addition of a beautiful fabric.

We are finally hanging shower curtains, placing sofas and chairs, washing windows, rehanging blinds and chandeliers. We are just about to wrap up the painting and are anxiously awaiting delivery of the final few pieces of furniture.

Our opening has been pushed back closer to January, although we continue to receive reservation requests and are excited to host our first guests.

Thanks to Susie Berta of Newnan for her suggestion to name our rooms in Italian!  We love her idea and look forward to creating pretty little placques in our Casa Bella colors.  Susie is co-owner of Rick and Susie's Little Gourmet Cookies in Newnan.  There company bakes delicious, moist Italian Ricotta Cookies.  http://www.goodngracious.com/

Y'all don't forget we are offering a 10% discount on three nights as a special during our first few months.
