Bed and Breakfast Near Serenbe, Georgia

Our guests this morning are moving to Newnan to be close to Michael's job at the new Kia plant in Westpoint.
After a day and evening of discovery we slowed things down for a bit for breakfast! A candlelit breakfast of Pecan French Toast with hand-blended syrup and a savory plate consisting of a Sausage Sandwich Strata and Ron's crispy homefries!
There's nothing better than the sound of oohs and aahs coming from the breakfast table and we were happy to offer them their first French press coffee experience with our Home At Last! Mellow Blend coffee.
After finding out what they enjoy in their offtime we shared some of the fun things happening through-out the South Metro of Atlanta like Newnan's Wine About The Economy-coming up on June 18 from 5 - 9 pm.
We shared information about our local weekend markets including Market Days in Newnan, Serenbe and Hogansville.  Both are interested in cooking and welcomed the idea of fresh-from-the-farm goodies and specialty foods!

Georgia Peach Breakfast Taco

It's one thing for me to write over and over how much we enjoy taking care of our guests! We do! BUT- I also want you to experience our Bed and Breakfast through the eyes of our guests!

Ellen and John of Mandeville, Louisiana stumbled upon our B & B through Google Maps! They checked in late-enjoyed pizza on the court square and a good night's sleep before continuing their road trip to Charleston.

Breakfast was leisurely and included another of our recipes from The Old Garden Inn. The Georgia Peach Breakfast Taco was a recipe I created for inclusion in PBS's "P" is for Peaches, Pies and Pecans way back in the late 90's!

Here's what Ellen and John had to say about their stay with us last night. Their comments are reprinted with their permission!

"Perfection. Fabulous hosts, delightful room and the food was amazing. You put Newnan on the map for us! What a great way to start our vacation! Thanks for the cookies and Good Luck with everything! P.S. Of course we love Zena!

An Innkeeper's Life at Casa Bella

Ron and I spent a busy day cleaning, baking and getting a jumpstart on our guests breakfasts!  All of this after a wonderful swim.

The weather has been so spectacular here in Georgia that I hurry to get my work done so that I can spend a few hours by the pool - relaxing, swimming and playing with our Rottie, Zena.  Although-she's not a fan of swimming she catches "mean water".  I don't know how to better explain that except to say she loves to catch the water!   You know how it is when you have a playful pet! They make up their own games.
We planned a breakfast with early peaches coming in from South Carolina.  They will be made into a recipe I created twelve or so years ago when we operated as The Old Garden Inn.  The recipe is a Peach Breakfast Taco and it was one of our most popular first courses.  Crispy flour tortilla coated with a light dusting of cinnamon sugar-the filling is a cottage cheese and ricotta filling-served with fresh slices of peaches and two homemade syrups.  One syrup a homemade peach with dessert wine and the other our popular homemade black raspberry.

We dipped the peaches into boiling water momentarily to remove the skins-next we sliced the peaches and  now have them resting in the fridge with a small amount of sugar.  It's important to us to keep our breakfast creations lightly sweetened to suit the early morning stomach.

Ron finished up his evening with a batch of his delicious chocolate chip cookies for our guests this evening.  They are driving in from Louisiana and we want to make sure they have a snack before bedtime-just in case they are too tired to go out for dinner.

International Flights Through Atlanta's Busy Airport

If you've a long road trip ahead of you after landing at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Casa Bella is an ideal distance away from the madness of overcrowded terminals and crazy parking! About thirty-five miles south of the terminals-downtown Newnan is a quick four miles off Interstate 85!

Our own international travel experiences have contributed to the comforts and amenities offered at Casa Bella Bed and Breakfast.

There's no need to unpack if you are traveling on-our robes are oversized and wonderfully fluffy.  Eco-friendly and delicately scented Honey Shampoo is provided along with gentle soaps and hairdryers. Convenient off-street parking takes the worry out of where to park the car and restaurants are within easy walking distance of our inn.

If you hoping to stay close to home, Casa Bella Bed and Breakfast offers a fabulous inground saline pool with plenty of privacy to enjoy a good book or if you must-a little office time.  With complimentary WiFi-there's no down time communicating with work!

Wedding Bliss at Casa Bella Bed and Breakfast

I love the way the sun pours through the beveled glass in our 1911 Greek Revival! As a "summer" personality I enjoy the bright sun bouncing off the pale aqua walls! My breakfast table usually reflects my passion for happy, sunny colors.

This morning, however, Newnan was totally overcast and it provided an opportunity to pull out a different color palette to liven up the shadow-filled front hall. I found some pretty red napkins and red plates to set on top of my fused-glass chargers nestled on top of rattan chargers! Our sweet course was served on golden "hobnail" plates that I picked up so many years ago at Nieman-Marcus in Atlanta. The deep garnet colored plates provided the perfect backdrop for a grilled brioche bread with a egg cooked in the hollowed part of the slice. A crispy pan-fried pork chop and our delicious homefries completed the plate!

Dunaway Wedding And Casa Bella Bed and Breakfast Of Newnan

Our honeymooners strolled off to enjoy a morning in downtown Newnan after a leisurely breakfast!

Starved and happy to enjoy some hot food we started them off with some Grilled Pound Cake with our Strawberries Romanoff. Their egg course included our "potted eggs" with fresh minced tomatoes and green onions and a light dusting of cheese. We rounded out the meal with our signature homefries and 10-Grain Toast!

They loved their Dunaway Gardens wedding and said it was "picture perfect"! After a great night's sleep they are off for a weekend in Coweta before heading out on their honeymoon!

Next weekend's bride and groom, also being married at Dunaway Gardens, will celebrate their first few nights in Newnan at Casa Bella Bed and Breakfast.  We take great pride in welcoming our newlyweds as they embark on their married lives together!
Congratulations to all of our newlyweds!

Newnan, Dunaway Gardens and Spring in Atlanta!

Our Taccoa. Georgia guests validated my last post with their enthusiasm in "just being able to enjoy a night away from the three little ones"! An enjoyable night out at a cousin's wedding taking place in Newnan's Dunaway Garden's was enough to bring smiles to their faces as they prepared for an evening out!

Atlanta South's Stylish Bed and Breakfast, Casa Bella Bed and Breakfast

Years ago when Ron and I imagined our first Bed and Breakfast, The Old Garden Inn, we established early on that we wanted to capture the Atlanta market.  Polling clients and friends we asked what was the optimum weekend getaway -  45 minutes in any direction was enough distance from home for most to enjoy that "getaway" spirit.

Fifteen years later, I believe the same holds true.

So many of us are stressed, overworked and in need of a little TLC.  Often, all that is required is a little change of scenery and a break from our everyday routine to rest and restore.

Rocking on a front porch, sunning at the pool, engaging in a lively conversation with new friends or even a leisurely stroll through historic neighborhoods is just enough of a break to refresh us and send us back to our hectic lives.

Casa Bella Bed and Breakfast of Newnan reflects all that we have enjoyed in our travels through-out the world.  Friendly hosts, great beds, wonderful food and inclusion in the lives of ordinary people living life spectacularly.
