Cooking breakfast is like riding a bike-once you learn could you ever really forget? I don't think so. . . but we decided not to risk it and held a practice session. Better safe than sorry. . . Besides, we love breakfast for dinner!
We started out with the basics-our wonderful creamy grits, a French Potato Omelette, applewood-smoked bacon, toast and black raspberry preserves. We made pretty cups of sweet cantalope and plump strawberries topped with vanilla yogurt and my black currant syrup.

We laid out the breakfast table with pretty new linens and place settings. All the creamers and sugars were filled, salt and peppers laid out and we brewed a pot of steamy signature coffee.
Everything went off without a hitch and we felt like seasoned innkeepers.
We are excited to receive our first guests and have reservations for the end of the month. There's still plenty to do around our house but the rooms are pretty and clean.
Now, I would have been happy to have been your guinea pig! It sounds so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteY'all will have to come for dinner one night. I will have to think on what would be a good meal for you. Do you love seafood? Or we could do something exotic. Frog legs and escargot with our creamy grits! Give me hints as to what you really would like to try!
ReplyDeleteSounds great! Patty if you make it, I'll eat it. Any thing that is, except squid! LOL!! Don't like it, don't eat it. Seafood is great. We both like it. You tell me when & it's a date.
